Doogie

Harrisonburg VA His entire adoption fee has been promised if someone is willing to adopt this sweet ole boy! Tough Mutts has had no interest in our poor old guy Doogie. He is 10 years old and great with dogs and people. His favorite people are kids! He does need a little work on house training but other than that he is the perfect dog. He is a lab mix and total love bug. He is laid back and just loves belly rubs. He is currently in emergency foster care and we cannot accept more dogs from shelters until we get him into a more permanent foster home or an adoptive home! Blue

Grottoes, Va--Husky/Shepherd mix. I need to help a good friend of mine find a home for this gorgeous boy. His name is "Blue". He's approx 5 yrs old, neutered, and current on vaccinations. He isn't fond of cats, but gets along with dogs. Blue loves attention and would make a great family dog. He is about 50 to 60 pounds. Mighty

Mighty is a beautiful collie (I think) with excellent disposition in a home with elderly church members who are facing issues of needing to move to nursing facility (dementia & care) and obviously they are heart broken, but Mighty is in need of a home: Note from their son: Mighty is extremely well behaved and docile--a very low maintenance pet. Tough Mutts Dog Rescue - Special Needs - Meet Avalon!

Avalon is currently in emergency foster care! Avalon is a mini white pit with black spots. She is sweet and loves everyone she has met so far but her favorite person so far is her emergency fosters' 12 year old son. She loves to be walked and has great crate manners. She seems okay with smaller dogs. She also ignores cats, if they do not run. She does seem to want to chase them if they take off. Her special needs issues - she does have demodex and is on meds for 30 days. She is also Ehrlichia positive (http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=2+2102&aid=430) but not symptomatic. She has been brought up to date on her shots and will be spayed as soon as the vet gives the okay. She is in an emergency foster home and will be needing to move into a foster home that can love her until she is adopted. Tough Mutts Dog Rescue - Special Needs - Meet Bianco!

Bianco is currently in a great foster home and is available for adoption! :) Bianco is blind but can seem to hear. Here are three things we love about Bianco! 1) We love how he is always smiling! 2) We love how he walks right beside you and every few steps gently tilts his head to nudge you and make sure you are both where you should be. 3) We love how he thinks every food bowl is a play toy. He eats and then proceeds to pick up his bowl and bounce it around. He always knows where that bowl lands and grabs it right back up. We know he is blind, so what? ESP? (Yes, he now has a ball to play with) Bianco has wonderful crate manners and loves to be right up next to you. The only real accommodation we have had to make is the use of non-tip and mounted bowls to prevent him from stepping in and spilling his food/water. He loves to be brushed, which is good given his beautiful long white tail. ON 8/17/15, we learned Bianco loves music!! When a family member was playing violin yesterday, Bianco began to dance. He would walk in circles (like he was chasing his tail but not as fast) and would "dance" until the music stopped. Then, Bianco would stop. When the music would start again, Bianco would start dancing again. What a smart dog! Let your musician friends know this may be the dog for them! He has had all of his shots and has been neutered. Coconut needs a foster home!! Please consider fostering! It's a very rewarding experience!! She is available for adoption!! Coconut is completely deaf and has very limited vision. Her favorite thing to do is to jump on someone's lap and cuddle! She enjoys following you around and checking out her surroundings. She is wonderfully well-behaved when being given a bath! She just stands there and lets you wash her. She seems to be just happy for the attention. She loves to be brushed! She does bark for a little while when placed in the crate but then settles down and gets comfortable for her naps. She loves everyone and wants to be right up next to you! She also loves to be scratched behind the ears! She has had all of her shots and has been spayed.
