I have an older outdoor dog that needs to be re-homed as soon as possible. I have moved to Florida and my husband will be joining me this weekend. My parents, who live in Shenandoah County, can foster him for a little while, but are unwilling to take him on a permanent basis. He was picked up as an adult stray by the Page County Animal shelter. We adopted him in December of 2008. While we tried crate training him, he is not housebroken. He is too accustomed to being outside. I believe he was a hunting dog that was never kept inside prior to us. His name is Bixby and he is a beagle/basset hound mix. He is as sweet as can be. Doesn't know a stranger. He is content to lay around and watch the world go by. Here is a link to my FB album of him:

He loves people and other dogs. He learned to tolerate our 4 cats, but has chased ones he saw outside. He is current on all of his shots and is a patient of Blue Mountain Animal Clinic in Luray.
If we weren't going to the land of gators and snakes, he'd be staying with us...
Thank you so much for any help you may be able to offer,
